“I really like the energetic placement of the various groups of people walking up the stairs. The stairs create a structured, patterned background to the composition, giving it harmony, and the placement of the people breaks up the symmetry and adds energy.”dixit Ian Plant ;-)500Px :(Mastering the Art of Composition: 11 Photos at the Top of the Class)
When an image captures my attention and demands that I think about what it is really saying to me, I feel I ought to try to express that to the artist who created it, as a small token of appreciation.
I'll speak about just one aspect of how I react to this image, quite separate from its overall graphical appeal. I see humans moving away from the viewer, each intent on some unseen destination or goal. Each is joined inextricably to a dehumanized, geometric version of themselves. The entire grouping calls up associations with digitization, bar codes, technology's reduction of our lives to ever expanding sets of numbers. It can all be taken as a metaphor for the not-so-distant future.
Of course, tomorrow I might react completely differently, which is the beauty of a great image. (5 stars are not adequate...)
Without the people it would have been a very stark and plain shot. With the people included, there is a new element brought in, adding something dynamic to an otherwise flat image. Also, by not revealing the faces of the people, a touch of mystery enhances the capture ! Superbly shot and framed ! Great in B/W !!
Magnifique ! Le sujet se prête tellement bien au noir-et-blanc que l'on oublie que ces clichés ne sont pas en couleur. Les angles de prise de vue sont particulièrement bien étudiés. Bravo Bruno, encore une fois un superbe diapo.
Fabulous album, great perspective, superb contrast and amazing points of view. Really love it! Congrats Bruno for your excellent photographic skills that's getting more and more awesome for every picture you take! Would love to see pictures of my beautiful Stockholm! :) Time to visit Sweden!!! Best regards! Have a great weekend!
Magnifique question structure et sobriété . Le noir et blanc est une option parfaite pour ce genre de photos !
La grande classe , cher Bruno !!! Comme le bon vin qui va en s'améliorant .
Un chouette week-end !
